Even though I have all these other maps, I never really frequented dday servers, certainly not the Czech or Polish ones, so all I was able to find from that list was urban and urban2, and they are Action Q2 maps: www.lahtela.com/aq2suomi/maps/urban.zipwww.lahtela.com/aq2suomi/maps/urban2.zipYou might have better luck contacting the admin of Land of D-Day server (24.63.162.49:27910) who appears to have some of them: Quake2dday@yahoo.com

got this error here now running MM2 changeHandler@Changed System.Runtime.InteropServices.ExternalException: A generic error occurred in GDI+. at System.Drawing.Image.Save(String filename, ImageCodecInfo encoder, EncoderParameters encoderParams) at ..(Bitmap , String , Int32 , Int32& ) at ..(String , Boolean , Int32& ) at ..(WatcherChangeTypes , String , String ) Probable Causes: 1) You (MM) don't have permission to write the file. 2) The file you're trying to write to is locked by another process. (Could try moving MM or Q2 to another directory, updating paths and restarting) How often does this happen? It looks like a generic permissions error, One of the textures it's trying to re-save, is open locally somewhere, so you should close the program in which it is open first. (Could even be explorer which would require a restart). Also if you installed quake 2 or MM on windows 7/8 in the program files directory where there's strict write permissions, you could try running MM in administrator mode or moving quake2 or MM somewhere else, and then adjusting the MM paths accordingly. Usually restarting MM or computer should fix a file lock (if another program has a texture open).

Hey quake2dday Map Mixer was designed for rapid visual adjustments of existing maps, and is by no means a full blown .map editor. It's perfect for the purpose it was designed, ex: I've got over 10 thousands maps and there's plenty of perfectly fine ones just gathering dust that haven't really seen the light of day. Since MM works directly on a bsp file in memory, there's no need for time consuming compilations or to create anything from scratch. You can change a look of any map in order to give it a face lift in minutes and not hours or days, as in case of .map file compilations. Although you can't really change the bsp's layout unless it is a movable brush, you can use entities to block off areas and partition existing rooms. You can adjust lighting, change all the textures, add or rearrange map entities such as items or guns, and we've even experimented with injecting bsp elements and dynamic lights. Here are some of the results we were able to achieve: leray.proboards.com/thread/3244/cool-map-remixes-updated-examplesleray.proboards.com/thread/3522/new-evil-dead-remix-screenshotsAs far as all the textures being converted to jpg, they are created so you can conveniently preview your entire texture palette of choices, in order to easily drag and drop and replace existing map textures as seen here: Just click on the "View Thumbnail Directory" to preview all the textures available to you for replacement. You should also extract all your standard textures contained in various .pak files in baseq2 and mod folders using a program like qped or pak explorer, so map mixer can cache those for preview as well.

Actually WODX is the mod that supports all this crazy stuff: leray.proboards.com/thread/3458/introducing-ultimate-quake-weapons-multiAnd the Whale Server is where it's all at, including the fresh content. This month alone we had like 7 new map remixes. You can try this stuff live by joining our server with "connect 74.86.171.203:27910" command followed by "vote map evildead" Alternatively if you want to try it locally you can download WODX and run a server with HTTP downloading enabled: set sv_downloadserver "http://whaleseye.tastyspleen.net/quake2/" Then all you need to get is the override files and place them in your weapons map directory: whaleseye.tastyspleen.net/quake2/weapons/maps/?C=M;O=D (sorted by date) The server will then fetch the other content including models/sounds/textures/maps in seconds directly to you from our Whale Server. Note: To quickly download the content, you need to be running a client that supports HTTP downloading such as r1q2 or q2pro: q2s.tastyspleen.net/download-r1q2 (r1q2) q2s.tastyspleen.net/download (q2pro)

Hi, I'm a map collector, and I have over 45 thousand textures in my texture directory and Map Mixer takes only a few seconds to load. It should only take longer the first time you load Map Mixer 2 when it needs to generate and cache all the textures, but after that it should be quick. (You should let it generate first time) I suspect you either have an invalid texture somewhere on which it gets stuck (env or textures) or your Map Mixer wasn't configured correctly, which is more likely. It's important that you get things setup according to the guide step by step: www.netdoo.com/wodx/mapmixer2/(You could try starting with a fresh copy of Map Mixer and running again.) If you look at Step 2, it should say something like Making textures: 34/13233 If you don't see this at all, or it gets stuck on a specific number, this might be an indication of corrupt texture (perhaps bad env tga) you might want to remove. You could try temporarily renaming env directory to see if it's something in there, or moving portions of textures dir to narrow down the culprit. Let me know if this works, otherwise try to post a screenshot of the interface at the moment it gets stuck. What does it say for status? If you need more help, come by the Whale Server 74.86.171.203:27910, and I can guide you through it step by step.

Tried it just now, I like it very much. Great work !!! Only thing I miss is bots for playing offline. Just keep up with the cool stuff. Thanks! If you like bots just play the single player campaign (skip larger maps like city3 though) The best experience for this mod is still multi-player action over at our Whale server. Check it out by typing the following in q2 console: connect 74.86.171.203:27910 Server is busy most times if you're in the North American timezone. You can also spawn monsters yourself in any map offline: First put on cheats: "set cheats 1" to enable all features, then use console spawn commands: spawn 0 spawn 1 spawn off //destroy spawn before spawning another spawn class 0 spawn class 1 spawn class 2 spawn class all 0-31 //monsters, hidden debug turrets and other stuff Spawn specific monster ex (icarus): spawn class all 13 You can also spawn them with a specific key, using binds: bind key spawn class all 13 bind space spawn class all 13 //here's the full list 0 berserk 1 boss2 - flying boss 2 boss3 3 makron 4 jorg 5 makron2 6 brain 7 chick - iron maiden 8 flipper 9 floater - technician 10 flyer 11 gladiator 12 gunner 13 hover - icarus 14 infantry enforcer 15 medic 16 mutant 17 parasite 18 soldierx - guard 2 19 soldier_light - light guard 20 soldier - guard 21 soldier_ss - guard 3 22 supertank 23 tank 24 shark //still in development - and you will be missing models 25 laser turret 26 rocket turret 27 rail turret 28 blaster turret 29 power pill turret 30 plutoniun turret 31 grenade turret

I sense a great disturbance in the force... As If A Million (Kickstarter) Voices Suddenly Cried Out In Terror, And Were Suddenly Silenced. Looks like with this FB acquisition he might just have fully crossed over to the dark side (along with Oculus Rift, the last hope of so many rebel gamers / indie developers ~ oh so easily seduced) kotaku.com/john-carmack-voices-support-of-facebooks-oculus-acquis-1554809291It looks like the Death Star is now just a click away from being within range of the rebel alliance, and the indie developer mod base. So much hope, yet why must Anakin turn into Vader, and stand by his master's side? www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/09/24/finally-the-death-star-trench-run-for-oculus-rift/"Luke, you switched off your targeting computer! What's wrong?" "Nothing. I'm all right." USE THE FORCE!

WODX 2.6 WODX is a Multi-Mod with over 70 weapons, 20 grenade varieties, 9 airstrike types, 5 hook styles, trip lasers, IEDs, runes, techs, powerups, as well as a wide array of superhuman abilities such as sonic flight. It comes with user spawnable monsters ranging from strogg minions to custom ones like this Q1 Shambler: The mod supports Lazarus features as well as other added unique map / model abilities, for modellers, mappers and content creators. It's totally customizable and scalable from DM all the way to uber WODX, and best of all anyone can do it easily via the supplied serverflags.exe editor by simply unchecking the features you don't want. But the biggest plus of the mod is that it all works in online death-match multiplayer, so you can still experience the full range of player strategic creativity while going up against some truly menacing opponents wielding all that firepower. You can check it out live on our Whale Eye server: 74.86.171.203:27910 (or on Gumby's which runs a customized slimed down version called comp weapons: 74.91.120.119:27910) Our website is: WODX @ TSYou'll find the latest Mod files here (unzip into quake2/weapons folder): Wodx 1.8 - Main Mod (includes 400+ map overrides)Wodx 1.8.11 Update (Added support for Xatrix weapons + overrides)Wodx 1.8.12 Update (Linux + Windows Server Files, Bug Fixes - requires 1.8.11 update files)Wodx 2.6 Update (Linux Server File)Quake 2 Installer with modern R1Q2 Client For those who want to check it out but don't have Quake2 - just install this first, and the above. Then type "connect 74.86.171.203:27910" in q2 console accessable via the tilde ~ key. Support Forums: forum.tastyspleen.net/quake/index.php?topic=18842.0You can get most of the maps we run (minus custom ones) here in a 1.6 GB zip file: tastyspleen.net/quake/downloads/all-maps.zipTextures, Sounds and Env Packs: tastyspleen.net/quake/downloads/As far as custom map files and textures are concerned, there's just too many to bundle, but since the mod has http downloading enabled there's a straightforward work around to getting them. All you need to do is download just the .bsp files manually and run the mod using the provided server_wodx.cfg. It'll then fetch all the missing textures, models and sounds from our main server when you change to that given map or override. It uses HTTP so it's just as fast as downloading from any website. We have a bunch of people contributing creative content that's well worth the download. Here's where you can get the source .bsp files (just right-click save the ones you want to try to your map directory): whaleseye.tastyspleen.net/quake2/weapons/maps/Server command line: WODX +set game weapons +exec server_wodx.cfg Xatrix +set game weapons +exec server_xatrix.cfg Comp +set game weapons +exec server_comp.cfg Alternatively you can run any of these configs using the drop down within the provided "serverflags.exe" application (Wodx 1.8.11 Update), or even make your own customized mod variant with it A preview of some of the spawns available: forum.tastyspleen.net/quake/index.php?topic=19569.0In-depth weapon descriptions and feature documentation forum.tastyspleen.net/quake/index.php?topic=18842.0

( Single player map , story begins in my new purchased house ). Looks interesting, Can't wait to try it. Perhaps it can also fit 4 people on multiplayer?
