I have an idea, and I wanted to see if any other fellow mappers were interested in it...
I was thinking of a group map. One person would be the coordinator, and figure out a generic map. (rooms with doors, trapdoors...inside rooms, outside rooms...etc.) Seperate mappers would each create one room to their liking, but it must conform to the general map. (so that doors line up and such) Then, the coordinator could put all of the rooms together and have one map!
If someone didn't want to creat an entire room, then maybe they could submit some props or something.
What do ya'll think?

Was it a technical problem, or was it loss of interest?
I'm over here tinkering with relays and stuff, and making some really cool interactive things for a map. However, once I actually start laying rooms out, I get bored.
My current 'project' is an old science complex. (possibly post apocalyptic) Everything will be dark and non-functional, except for a few emergency lights. Navigation to/from rooms may take thinking and some time. However, once a master power switch is turned on, everything slowly starts to auto-power up. Now, running around is much faster, and you can now gain access to the stronger weapons. Automatic doors only work when the power is on, however you can shoot the door sensor and permanently fry that one door closed.
I've got the technical stuff done, but just the map to layout.

CMI ! Only thing i need is a .map file with some brushes determining doorspace and maybe some other - the room shape (to avoid future rooms to colide). a screenshot of the texture theme (and textures themselves) would also be nice. but even if you have another idea, how to organise it - it's ok with me, i'll try my best BTW, I'm leaving tomorow morning and will be back on monday. I'm gonna have some nice time on The Baltic Sea. CU all in few days
