I just finished the map tonight... I added some new stuff, and fixed that horrible deadend at the RL (you were right!). Also, see if you can find the secret message! I hid it in such a unlikely spot, it would take you hours to scour the map for it Or 2 minutes in a map editor. www.planetquake.com/vortex/yun/vrxdm1.zipNote: link is temperary -- It's being uploaded to Fileplanet ASAP. Maybe a review? Maybe LOTW? Yes, I have high hopes for a first map Thanks for checking it out, in advance. Yun

L1 X **.5 Point Dot ~~~ Point Dot (Yun) . vrxdm1_readme.txt (D: ineligible) . vrxdm1.bsp . h_tele_fin.bsp
A general visual look-over: + Curved surfaces + Good item placement (the side-by-side +10 health everywhere is a good idea) + Good architecture and layout. The basement and grassy area are awesome looking. + Teleporters and jump pad - No phong shading on curves (would have looked really nice if they had it) - Harsh sunlighting. Not too bad though - Repetetive texturing
Pretty decent map. Worthy effort.

I followed the procedure for Phong Shading, but I'm guessing it didn't work out right, it did fix a lot of curves, but some just wouldn't work.

That's weird. It should work unless you're using -nocurve when you run arghrad. I've never had it not work before. Just wondering, are you using the same value for all the touching surfaces that are supposed to be curve-shaded together, and the "light" flag is off? (I always use "1" for mine. The only time I use different values is for things like pipes going around corners, so each section is curve-shaded separately. The first section will be "1", the second "2", the third "1" and so on.) Oh well, though. The curves still look nice even without it. Thay're just in old OLD school style.

just a side-note, are you using arghrad 2.01 or higher(if there is higher)??

[glow=black,2,400]I've yet to try the Vortex mod but will soon... our own _DOA_INVADER used to be hooked on that mod... I want to check out your map but will the Vortex maps work with other mods or do I need the mod itself first? if any of the Vortex maps rock I'd probably run 'em on a few servers...[/glow]

Point Dot (vrxdm1) is now running on the Vortex servers, which just got reset. So all characters average around level 7-8... Now is a good time to start playing...
I used a rather old version of Arghrad I guess....
I'm not version.
