How can I keep this room dark, with the sun shining down just outside? - Mike

you could use an architectonic feature, like a porch, to keep the sunlight away from the door ..... or try the arghrad 3.00 beta. it has an option to let bmodels block light.

Alright the lighting's gone! Turned out the one I was using already had that option but I never touch commands like that Now how about eliminating the light at the base and ceiling? More func_walls? - Mike

no light ever goes through a solid brush, or two solid brushes linked together, it be then there is a gap between them. it can be a gap smaller than 1 unit which can't even be seen in the map editor. sink one brush into the other if there is no other way. set the grid to 1 and zoom in to a microscopic level, until you see all the details of the region. microgaps are a very likely cause of lighting glitches in a map.
