Well, I was just randomly staring at Quake 2's code a few days ago, and being a fan of Myth II, I thought to myself "wouldn't it be cool if Steal the Bacon was in Quake 2?" Well, after about two days of coding with the (HUGE) help of Paril... (The green thing is the Bacon.) I would post more screenshots, but I don't feel like converting any more to JPEG from TGA to upload to Photobucket. The game is basically Kill The Man With The Ball, except with a big ball of Bacon. For every second you hold the ball, you get a point. The game ends when the score or time limit is reached. Anyway, yes, the map sucks. If anyone cares to make a "Baconized" version of any of their maps, all they need to do is add an "item_bacon" entity where they want the bacon to spawn. And yes, the Bacon is a ball. It's a Bacon Ball. And the full bright is why it's bright green in the screen shot. Now go away. UPDATE: The mod's code, art and sound are complete. All we need are some decent maps. If we could get a few maps for the mod, we could release immediately. They don't even need to be original maps - they can be old DM maps you made with an item_bacon entity for the bacon (although if you want to create original maps, go ahead, that would be very nice!)

Game Play sound like Catch the Chicken Q2 Mod, chicken.planetquake.gamespy.com/Should not need to make custom maps, need more code to spawn the Bacon item_bacon, or do what Paril has put in IMW using ent files & or CMO (Complete Map Overwrite) files. Yes, I lectured him many many times that decompiling existing maps and getting authors to compile special versions is just going to make things tons confusing. And I showed him that EGL can screenshot to JPG format -Paril

I use R1Q2 and it takes .png screenies. this little freeware prog can open, modify and do quick batch conversions on pretty much any graphic file format I've seen: dervish.tastyspleen.net/files/iview399.exe(very useful for making 50 .tga files into 50 .jpgs with the push of a button) The mod looks like a blast!

Yeah, EGL can do tga, png and jpg. S'lot better than R1 generically IMO.

In "Wierd Comic Art 2" the guy replaced the explosive barrel with a Makron statue. Could this be easily done to STB? Replace the Quad or something rare with the bacon item so that any map with at least 1 Quad could be used with the mod.

Yeah, could do that.. first quad is replaced with bacon. But stock maps still need to have the maps .ent/.anted to add the quad in the right place so we'd just be going through one extra step. Easiest way is to just use item_bacon.
