And I'm sure I'm not alone in being thankful that you have made such an awesome source port Knightmare It's all I use for my maps

Now I'm getting the feeling that I'm the only one who has ever mapped with bsp (I never have in this game) Only in quake based game that I mapped with bsp and my question is does it work here it's just I'm quite skilled with it and I like using it.

I recommend GTKRadiant, i use to use QuArK and i thought that was top notch since before that i used Quoole ( lets face it, that editor is out of date ), but i mapped Newcloud in GTKRadiant and i can't even open up QuArK anymore, the 3D view is much smoother in GTK and the enviornment once you remember the N for Entity and T for Texture and S for Properties it's just gravy.. hands down the GTK Radiant of all those 3 i have tested

Yes, I used Tread3D and Maric taught me everything I know. He created a great tutorial for it and that's where I learned all of the tricks. It's very easy to use. Yep, that tutorial was simply awesome. But it is sadly gone now. -W1 Im not sure if this is the exact tutorial but i got a little archive that i downloaded way back.. Maric-Q2-Tutorials Mapping with Maric It was a HTML Site that included some links so i downloaded the entire website for the tutorial Files included are index_files mwm1_files mwm2_files mwm3_files mwm4_files mwm5_files mwm6_files mwm10_files mwm11_files index.htm mwm1.htm mwm2.htm mwm3.htm mwm4.htm mwm5.htm mwm6.htm mwm10.htm mwm11.htm mwm12.htm
And you can fetch the .rar archive over at www.steinip.net/aq2/maric_q2_tut.rar it's about 5mb EDIT: i am not sure why but steps 7 through 9 are missing, i have no idea why.. but this is all i have people can go through this to pick bits out if they want, little is better then nothing at all EDIT 2: I know why, i must have gotten this from Wixen's website because i am missing the EXACT! same pictures and pieces of the maric site...

I used Qoole when i was first starting out, it is so not made for anything higher then like Windows XP and it's not that good, i mean it is missing a lot of functions as to what you can really DO in today's mapping world, However QuArK is also nice, a bit laggy for my taste i did one map in it and it never sat well with me. It wasn't until i opened up GTKRadiant that i really hit my stride, a really smooth visual enviornment, easy on the eyes, good functions to create hollow boxes and materials you need. It is in my opinion the best mapping program out there. Qoole is outdated and shouldn't be considered a mapping program today. If you ask me, GTKRadiant hands down EDIT: I realize now that i have already posted my reply to this thread but oh well this one is more thorough anyways

I usually used Qoole as it is quite easy to use but I changed to Jackhammer 1.0 . It is still an alpha, but very stable and nice to use. You can get it at moddb.com Dont have the link right now, just use Google, its easy to find. I like that editor very much, the allignment of brushes to the grid is very precise, that what Qoole lacks imo. It has more features to come, I cant wait for the next release. Try it, you will like it.
