Well, I don't have much of a map, but I've done some sketches, chosen a theme, and picked out some textures and envs I like. I like to build my maps around the texture choice, instead of the opposite way. Anyways, I went with a future sort of them. A mix of future/minimalism, something I think DM here lacks. Some screenies of a jump map I am making, with the a few of the textures I was planning on using. Also really like the whole transitional lighting in the last 2 screens.

I'm not sure if it's the textures or the lighting, but the top one is very dark and difficult to see on my screen.

I like what you have for the 2nd map, the minimalistic/developer theme. I would definitely put a different sky, simpler one.. just to add to the minimalistic theme. Very nice, relaxing to look at.

Interesting -- at work, the top image is clearly visible, but at home, it's almost black near the bottom.

These maps remind me of the Quake 3 Defrag mod! Sky looks great btw.

I had one idea for a nice looking map, but turns out the models I based it on don't really work too well in q2. Works better as a ctf map anyways But here's an example of what I was working on. It'll pry end up being a paintball map sadly, but I'll have something cool for q2 by the end of the week!

Looks good! Just out of curiosity (I do not use any models), how did you get the models not to be full bright? Or aren't the sunflowers models?

This is in a different game which supports .skm models (wink wink digitalpaint.org/news.php). So I don't have to worry about shading, it shades automatically. I think I'll just do something else with some sections of the map for q2, as the md2 models just don't look as good.

Had to have a friend upload, as I had a bit of an unexpected out of town excursion. Missed it by 20 minutes. Feel free to include it, or boot it. I didn't have time to fully finish it, so the texturing is poor, and the size is about 1/2 of what I had planned.
