showtime took me only 3 days to create this from scratch .... it's called *simplicius*, because the layout is relatively simple. nonetheless there is a lot of eye-candy und some nice details. have a look, and tell me what you think. (oops .... a texture was missing ..... should be fixed now)

Looks nice, big and open. The arched doorways are a nice touch.
OTOH, it could use a bit more detail. Maybe some obelisks or water features in the big center room. Protruding torch holders could also work (use animated misc_models for flames). You could also add a lower level to some give more interconnection.

I agree that the main room could use some more details. for the torches, I would have to use Lazarus or KmQuake2 I guess.
misc_model flames are not included in baseq2.
I want the map to be standard-Q2 compatible, so using torch-models is not an option ....
yep, the layout is simple, therefore the name of the map. no vertical challenge this time.

Misc_model support is included in the modified 3zb2 bot I posted a couple years ago. PM me if you need a link. There's a flame model suitable for misc_model use in the Rogue mission pack (unused), so you can rip that.

yep, but the torch would not appear in baseq2 or other mods/bots. I would get a error message, like *misc_model has no spawn function*
I want the map to be compatible with every port or mod.
