Greetenings. I have returned with another Quake 2 singleplayer map called "Outer Outer Base" which refers to a base even further out from the Makron's city as Outer Base is. It's a standard vaniller 100-Strogg strong map with a few secrets and a secret that will make the ending a lot easier to handle. ;w; Screenshots included in these Twitter-posts: The direct download URL resides here: quakeulf.suxos.org/3d/maps/oobase.zip

A few days ago I downloaded this map and as usual let me write that it's quite nice map to play.
Passing your maps (not only this one, but also Sonic Mayhem or Derelict Facility), I deduced the repetition of some solutions. Making maps you beat almost everyone, even I would need many years to catch up with you. I often come across texts that the player reads after taking items (especially weapons), some in my opinion can be funny, but overall I don't treat it as a disadvantage.
For sure at least two maps (Wastewater Station and Outer Outer Base) I notice that the final parts of the game are really difficult. Since I'm on this topic, the use of Quad Damage often seems to be mandatory at the bottom (where there are many different opponents, from Guards to Tanks). Otherwise, the death is 95% ready, so this place should be cut by 1-2 opponents.
Secrets are hard to miss, in the first attempt I found 5 out of 6 such places. It's worth thinking about the finesseness of this aspect of the map - if you played The Reckoning add-on, then you remember e.g. that one of the secrets was available to the player, as the player pressed a button seven times. Yes, some may be annoyed that they still can't find unlucky secrets, but finally one day there may be a monotonous small diversity of secrets in terms of the way to it (as a way I think, e.g. shooting a button, finding a nook easy to miss, destroying a damaged wall fragment).
Balancing also on the plus side, the available ammunition is slightly below average. It wasn't until the end that I lost my powerful armor, so I have no criticism about the arrangement of items related to armor (or health).
On a 10-point scale, I would rate the map at 8. I won't be able to summarize this map shorter, I will immediately take on things that are worth remembering when creating your next maps. For example, you can change the appearance of the sky, I usually notice that you use unit1_ in this case, maybe also unit2_. Pure Quake 2 (and therefore without official addons) offers 10 different skies, so when you find yourself wanting to create another map, you can make a map embedded in a spaceship (then the map has the sky parameter value space1).

As a big fan of your maps, this time wanted to appreciate the clever name. Good idea giving them (them being the Quake 1 gamers) a Quake 2 reference.
