Are there any commands to revert the particles back to the games default particles/explosions? I think that should be a menu option in the next update to select if you want the old or new particle effects.I know you could say why dont you just use unoffical 3.24 patch or q2pro or yamagi.
Unofficial patch 3.24=no http support levels download slow off servers
Q2pro= it has http support but, the guns xyz is all screwed up and i cant even adjust it in online matches and it has many other issues and the muzzle flashes are all screwy it's just a bad source port in my opinion.
Yamagi has http support but it crashes to desktops sometimes downloading off servers and the muzzle flashes are screwy just like q2pro and it doesnt stay true to original games yellow lighting it changes it to a red/orangish hue.
So yes, i think this would be a good option to add in the future.

There is an option for the old model-based explosions in the effects options menu. However, the old dot-based particles are gone and never coming back. They would require a second, redundant particle/effects system to have as an option.
As for my unofficial Q2 patch, new releases are possible in the future- v3.24 isn't necessarily the ultimate version.

That would be perfect for everyone who wants the true vanilla experience. Thanks for the response btw.
