As the title says, I'm experiencing a strange problem with Yamagi Q2 and cvars. Some years ago I released a mod/levelpack named Citadel (more info here), in which many weapons were fine-tuned via cvars stored in a .CFG file (default.cfg) which resides into pak0.pak -- for example, the Blaster fires green projectiles, the Chainfist and ETF Rifle are more powerful, etc. Everything works fine both on the vanilla 3.20 client and with KMQuake2. However, when I try to run Citadel on Yamagi, the .CFG file is completely ignored. The weird thing is, I'm still able to input the cvars manually in the console, and they work, however if I type "exec default.cfg" I get the following output messages: execing default.cfg You can't bind the special key "ESCAPE"! You can't bind the special key " " "! You can't bind the special key " ' "! ...but the changes in default.cfg don't take effect. Can someone help me in solving this problem?

This is an issue best taken up with Yamagi directly. I've looked through his source, and it appears to exec default.cfg. Perhaps he's added some error condition if any of those reserved binds are attempted.

Thanks Knightmare, I figured as much. I found no way to get in touch with them on their website, so I will experiment a bit myself. If I won't be able to fix it, I'll put a disclaimer that will notify the player about this compatibility problem.

I found no way to get in touch with them on their website Er, what? Yamagi has an email link in a small frame at the bottom of every page on his site.
