we actually have that now, we discovered something called "PIG2K" the other day and it randomly selects a function; it either transforms players into sheep, makes them float in the air then go boom, switch places with owner, or makes them go boom. however, i'd like to see them as seperate weapons. use the debug trail for the float in air thingy railgun, and a BFG that transforms players into sheep ONLY. also, expect a sticky grenade that latches on players then 2 sec later they tele to a random place in the map. but i do like that idea thx anyway tom

Hey guys. A late update, just kinda sneakin' on here xd
We fixed a few bot issues and we improved a few weapons, added the Stapler and improved effects on the Neutron Star. You'll love it. I'll tell you about a few new features later today when I get home from school.
I would also like to welcome Recon to the IWM development team!

I had an idea again about those laser mines I mentioned a few days ago. You said you've added sticky bombs, well I was wondering this: a sticky laser mine. it sticks to the player (and maybe does a low level amount of damage to them) and casts out a laser while it's on them. if anyone happens to get in its path--SPLAT. here's the catch: the laser only emits when attached to a player. otherwise, when thrown against a floor/wall/object, it works just like a normal grenade.
actually, maybe not even a laser... maybe a sticky lightning mine/grenade. when it sticks to a player, a constant bolt of lightning emits from it (say for maybe 5 seconds) and then explodes. but when it's used on a floor or wall, it waits until a player comes into range and then zaps them with lightning until they get far enough away or it kills them.

that sounds promising Tomas.
I was thinking it would be a bit more useful if it aimed the bolt at the nearest other player automatically.
Kinda like a "chain lightning" grenade/mine.
You throw it, and if anyone touches it, it sticks to him and fries him while emitting a bolt (or 2) of lighting (instantly, like a hitscan weapon) at the nearest other player(s).
ZAP!

A chain lightning grenade would be fun, but the sticky idea is a bit redundant. The ChainLightning Grenade would find one player, and zap him. While he's being zapped, from his origin he'll find the closest player that wasn't zapped yet, and goes through it like that. It'll be hard, but it's possible.
We're done with weapons for 1.70, we already added about 18.

Tomorrow, 1.70 will be released. The second after that, we're going to have a one/two day period for new weapons made by us, then we go to town on the code, etc. Here are those new screenshots I promised of the Neutron Star: -Paril

how about a weapon that freezes certain limbs on an enemy/player, if hit successively? you shoot them once, it freezes their hands--and while frozen, they can't fire. shoot them again, their legs freeze and they can't move. shoot them a third time, their head is frozen and their vision becomes quite blurred/distorted somehow (like seeing through ice, obviously). and as a final touch, if you manage to shoot them 4 times in a row, their whole body becomes frozen and causes a slow amount of damage until they thaw. basically, the main idea is that the shots have to be successive. so if you shoot them once, then miss the next, the secondary affect (frozen legs) won't occur, etc.

Maybe their firing can be impaired.. such as shooting at random moments and their gun "freezing" on them randomly. Not an entirely bad idea.

that sounds good too, so that only the 4th shot causes complete impairment.
