It has its own engine they built from scratch. From wikipedia: Croteam created their own engine for use in both First Encounter and Second Encounter. Named the "Serious Engine", it is designed to cope with extremely large view distances and massive numbers of models, unlike most FPS engines which are developed for a limited draw distance and only a few animating models (i.e. enemies) on screen at a time: it is very efficient, capable of maintaining dozens of moving enemies (often stampedes) even on a modest system challenging the well known Quake, Unreal or Half-Life engines. The "Serious Engine" can render through both DirectX or OpenGL and, while it does not support pixel or vertex shaders, it is optimised for DirectX 7's hardware transformation, clipping and lighting. Here's some much more in-depth info about it: www.seriousengine.com/wiki/Serious_Engine

Guys, while going through my collection of sounds I came across a familiar one; the starman theme from Super Mario Bros. How would you guys like it if you could grab a star that bounced around the map (similar to SMB), and when grabbing it, you're invincible, but can't use your weapons, and running into people is the only way to hurt?

Lawl.
It won't "replace" the donkey kong hammer, reason being this star is _VERY_ rare. It can spawn randomly on a map like the other items, but it's fast and bounces around. It has a very low chance to be spawned; about 2 times lower than the others. If you see this star, GET IT! It's actually very fun. Also, you can get the star from the Block Cannon... maybe I've said too much.

I came across a few bugs tonight playing IWM. 1. If you shoot someone several times with the freeze nukes, then quickly switch weapon and kill the player while they're still frozen, they leave behind these blue "orbs" (for lack of a better word) which never go away. Screenshot of this: 2. If you currently have a magic carpet, shoot a freeze nuke and freeze yourself, you can still freely fly around even though you're frozen. 3. Sometimes (somewhat often) when you frag a bot, usually with the railgun, the bot dies but becomes partially embedded into the floor. Screenshot of this:

Nice catch. 1) Fixed in 2.00 already. 2) I'll fix that now 3) I know about this, it's a weird bug. It happens a lot with any weapon; use the Super Shotgun to bring someone down to like, 3 HP then gib him with it. You get the same result. I'll mess around with it. -Paril
