Man...that looks great! Thanks for sharing the pics. You and Wixen1 are keeping Q2 mapping alive and well. Glad to have you guys here. Maybe that Grieve guy will get off his butt and release a map one day.

Nice skelly. I am impressed. Don't worry grieve I'm lagging too... I won't release anything without excessive debugging and weeks of wiggling this little bit here and scooching that little bit there to make it as perfect as I can.. Unfortunately this turns simple mapping into a very, very time consuming developement process. Don't settle for less than what you think is perfect, Grieve. Make it good when it finally gets released. Then you can rub it in everyones faces for giving you so much crap! lol.

That's exactly what I was about to recommend !! Quark will copy the used textures into the Quark temp directory when you make a complete full or fast build of the map. When you use another editor, you can still load the map file into Quark after you are done, make the appropriate links to your texture folders and then make a fast compile. After that pick up the textures from the Quark temp dir and make your zip file. It will not copy sky textures and wav files automatically, so you will have to take care of these yourself . It also copies the standard textures from pak0.pak into your temp directory if you used them, so you may delete these before zipping everything.

Do You allow me to say a few words? This will be a fine map indeed. And if it's beta, let me tell You something. One key element of fine mapping is texture blending. This is what makes your level awesome looking while it's f***ing easy to do. On the 2nd shot we can see a great example of it, but You can improve it in a few, easy steps, in just minutes! Don't just split up the walls and the floors, ceils to pieces and texture them differently, go forward: move the brushes away from their plane. I mean, for example on the wall: move the lower brush 16px (for example!) out, the upper one 32px in... or bend one of them in 45 degrees or so. Do You understand? And also: on the floor and ceiling move the brushes up-down, away from each other. This will make it more exciting, and also will effect the final lighting too, because of the different depths. Hope You will find my comment constructive rather than offensive. Keep up the good work!
