it has a lot of real life details, yes. usual DM-maps don't have such details, they usually don't mimick real life locations anyway. they are supposed to show abandoned installations on foreign planets or somewhere else, which are now used for deadly deathmatch games, or special arena-type places which are designed for that. whenever DM maps have details, it's purely decorative - it's in the wall and floor details, or in a building facade which adds nothing to the gameplay but does something for the atmosphere. handsaws (which are not even turned off) are usually never found in DM maps. maybe I should steal ... err .... adopt this idea. it's like the craftsmen who have to repair the battle arena after each combat were in hurry this time, and forgot some of their tools there. possibly causing some frags in the next round.

there are still some action Quake Quake servers out there, aren't they ? for me, this mod resembles Counterstrike too much. but what do I say .... it existed before Camperstrike, and my theory is that it was the inspiration source for it. the gameplay is still better than Camperstrike's, but I find it a bit annoying that you use half the time bandaging and "recovering" from injuries, and when you finally get up with 30 health remaining, you get a bullet in the head within 1 second. ;D I don't really play it, but I spammed around a bit with CGF and LTK bots. your workshop map is okay and will surely provide some fun games for Action Quake players. some nice and painful details, like the little handsaw which was not turned off. I'll sue the owner of the workshoppe for that. and what hell of a washing powder do you use for yer laundry - it's stiff like a plank ?! would have liked some more little extras like that in the map. and some more details in general .... still looks a bit bland overall. gameplay wise it's okay, I think.

hmm, maybe a bit overstuffed with powerups. two times the red armor and superhealth is too much. I would rather had put the armor on one side and the SH on the other.

making empty promises here, wix ? oh wait, it's rather empty threats ..... Sabo, the map is okay for a quick'n dirty job. we have seen worse indeed. nice little arena. a propos arena .... I think maps optimized for botmatch ( "Quake 2 Arena" ) could be a rewarding approach. because bots are a Quakers best friends, and there are not too much maps where they play really good.

is this map better than your first efforts ? maybe it is, but I fear you will take that wrong. you will think that I said you made a good map this time, which I didn't. but I'll try to be positive: it is obvious that you are making some progress and learning new stuff. if you continue with that, it will take you somewhere one day. maybe. for now, this is a set of connected boxes full of editing tests, and it's awfully fullbright. pulling vertices and edges, deforming brushes, throwing in func_trains and water .... it is a big ragbag of mapping exercises. which is not so bad, generally, as I said. continue on this way, and you might learn the stuff. and make a real map one day. fullbright maps suck bigtime. learn how to light an open place with sky brush light. or set at least a an ambient light level in the worldspawn entity.

Ummm, I have seen worse "first maps", that's for sure. There is absolutely a certain degree of creativity in this first mapping attempt. Interesting enough to await Iam a stalker. Keep on rolling, man.
