Im interested in single player maps for quake 2,but arena maps for Quake 3.

Im new in the quake 2 community,and i have played quite a few good maps for quake 2,but i never understood what does it take to make a good level? Should i draw a concept on a piece of paper and then go into actual making the map?Or should i just freeflow it in the editor? Whats is a "MUST" for any quake 2 map?

I succesfully converted the texture to .wal but in the editor its gray....the texture is supposed to be blue...

when distributing maps as a pak file,i have an issue.Quake 2 looks in the maps folder instead the pak folder.How can i point q2 to read from the pak folder?

somethings definetly wrong.....it only loads in e1u1 textures.

Keep in mind that i have made these textures in Photoshop.And they arent converted in any kind of way.Is converting needed?
