I should just copy the PAK files from original quake 2 retail release?And do you know which file tells quake 2 whats the first map,what map should Q2 run when New Game is pressed?Is it map.lst?

I added the def file thats needed for gtkradiant in order to map for kmquake2,but when i open gtk it asks me what game do i wish to map for?Should i select quake2?Or should kmquake2 appear in the list of games to map for?Do the props and objects by any chance support any other format other than .md2?Can i use .ase or .obj or something like that?

Since iam working on a short game with idtech2.I will be good to port my stuff to your Kmquake2,but how do i set kmquake2 for mapping,and does kmquake2 only support .pk3 or supports PAK as well? Iam making a game simillar to Thirthy Flights of Loving(who also used your engine). Any documentation i can go trought?

What model entity should i use in order to place these animated models inside my map? Misc_model? or model_spawn.Iam mapping with TrenchBroom.

How do i make mission objectives,for example player has to pick up a key in order to open a door,or player has to kill a boss in order to proceed to the next level,what triggers do i use for that?

Hello Q2 mappers,ive recently started working on some map concepts for a quake 2 expansion pack called Quake 2:Mission Gates.Iam looking for someone who would like to help me with mapping. Here is a snippet of a story(WIP):
A group of marines is sent to turn of the power generator inside Strogg Facilites in order to enter the stroggs "Main Gates"and steal very valuable data which will help the marines to find out where the stroggs hide their secret weapons.
Ill post some pictures of maps as soon as i finish and polish the first 2 maps. Feel free to contribute if you want.
Note,im new to the forum.So feel free to correct me if i posted the thread in the wrong section or the thread is offensive in any kind of way.Im still getting to know the commmunity.
(Keep in mind:im not looking for someone to do the mapping for me,im just looking for someone to help me for example with some very specific scripted sequences,or help me make a custom model for the maps,or just give me some ideas i can use in this expansion pack)

I have made a quake 2 model with 3ds max,but i do not know how to add it to quake 2,iam trying to replace "berseker" quake 2 model with my own.How do i do that?And what kind of textures should i use for UV mapping(high-resolution,or low-res)?.And how do i convert a model to md2 format? Please help,in case the image that i put inside the attachment doesnt load,click Here to open the image (on imgur website)
