I didn't say that ya'll dated each other!! What were you thinking? But you weren't so quick to defend Tony Blair! So, I must think that he and Donald Duck dated. ;D On a mapping note though.... Is there a way to have a trigger point towards 2 seperate targets?

With all the hype, it almost sounds like a democrat running for an election.

The solar panels used to have more brown rectangles on them. There's barely any right now. Instead of making actual separate brushes for these rectangles, why not make a custom texture map in Wally. You could apply it to the large panel and give it the same look, but with far fewer brushes. You may be able to add the holes back in the walkways if you did this. The map is pretty cool, and you captured the concept well. But, to me, it's more of something to 'goof off in' instead of actually sitting down for a serious deathmatch. Neonopolis is still a fav of mine!

The brush work looks good, though. Hey! Welcome to the Cafe', UncleTom. Funny, I have an uncle called Tom too! His real name is something else though, and he lives in Jersey. Stah, are you able to have the train rotate along the path?

OK...let's say there's a bunch of rooms tied together. (no doors) Do you need to put some invisible 'seperator' brush between the rooms somewhere, so that the lighting program has smaller areas to calculate the falloff?

My new map (in creation) has quite a bit of 'clear' textures. The 'R' speeds are crazy right now!! (over 3,000 in some places!) I should be able to get this down considerably, once the map gets into the final 'tuning' stages. If I have to, I can eliminate nearly all of them, but they just look perfect where they are.
...well...we'll see. -KF

Me too Wixen. It was coming along nicely too. Perhaps more like a single player map than a DM map.
There're some good ideas in there. I can email you the map, if you like.

I will not be able to complete this as a full map. However, if anyone out there would like to check this out, then reply to this thread (with email address) and I will send this to you!
The teleporter is very nice and the Vend-a-nade is fun. There's a minisub in here which can hold a person. (hatch was sealed tho)
Anyway, this unfinished map may give you some inspiration for new ideas.

I am so sorry to report this, but here at my workplace, they have forbidden us to load games (or 3rd party un-approved software). Our hard drives were wiped a couple weeks ago. (My map is backed up though.) At any rate, I doubt that I will be able to finish my map as intended. If anyone is interested, I can release what I have so far. Not so much for the map, but for the items within. The vend-a-nade (grenade vending machine) and the teleporter are really cool. There's also the minisub (which could use some small tweaking.). Maric, if you are out there, I was hoping that the vend-a-nade and teleporter would spark your mapping interests again. If not for the Quake community, then perhaps another game-engine. I will be posting my incompleted map by this weekend, along with my punch list. (with source file) Map makers are free to use any of my creations, as long as I am given credit. (If you become a famous map maker, you will have to hire me as well.) In the future, I intend to load my map editor onto a small flash drive. I may be able to get away with mapping for a bit longer like this, before Big Brother figures out what I am doing. Instead of trying to make a complete map, I will only focus on a single room or device. Fellow Quake mappers can use my creations or rooms anyway they like, or just be inspired. I still have a bunch of ideas, so if I cannot complete them, I will pass them on to others. ...7 days past the expiration date, but still, -Kiddie Fresh!

Alright!! This has been one fun room so far. I still have a little left to do inside, but it is fleshed out alot more now. If you are wondering...the big machine is a grenade vending machine. (my secret project) It can despense up to 4 grenade icons without respawning! (one at a time, at the push of a button) Well...I'll be working on another room tomorrow... ;D
