Honestly this feedback requirement kind of came out of left field. I wasn't expecting that it was mandatory so I organized my schedule to that effect when the judging period started, because it wasn't alluded to previously at all nor was it a necessary part of the previous contests.
I'll be glad to provide feedback that isn't the ratings I'm already giving (which are a form of feedback by themselves), but I'm not sure how I feel about having to do it under a deadline. Rather, what I'd prefer to do is post on the threads for each of the maps and actually talk with the authors about the maps after the contest is over.

Where do we submit our scoresheets?
Also, wouldn't it be better to write positive feedback as well, letting the mappers know what they've done right? That's another way to improve.
2-4 sentences is also pretty arbitrary; I'd rather write as much as I feel that needs to be said.

Man, you're cranking these out one after the other, aren't you? It's great to see your enthusiasm! This is a really good duel map - you've done a great job with it! It flows really nicely and the lighting is just right, I think. It's more Quake 3 than Quake 2 aesthetically and I like the latter more, but that's just my preference on the matter. The only thing I can suggest is that you add more ambience to the actual indoor area, not just the sound of the wind in the upper levels.

One thing I can think of is to combine all - or most - of the sub-boards in the 10th Mapping Contest board into a single sub-board. Or perhaps there should be one sub-forum for the judges, one sub-forum for the mappers, and one containing the rules. 12 sub-boards is a little bit too much.

Well, I doubt you'll get into trouble for ripping it. Rogue Entertainment is now defunct, anyway.
From a pure gameplay & balance standpoint I do like the idea of a Double Damage instead of a Quad Damage, but the latter is so iconic to the series that it would feel off not having it around.

Doesn't a Double Damage power-up exist in the Ground Zero mission pack? You could borrow the model and sounds from there.

Sounds awesome Null, can't wait for whatever is in store! When Trenchbroom 2 comes out of beta mapping will be even easier for lots of people I think! I might just have to check it out when it does. Qoole 2.50 no longer works on my computer and I've been having difficulties adapting to other editors. Maybe Trenchbroom will be intuitive enough to get me back into mapping.

I have no suggestions when it comes to changing the forum structure, but I'm also very pleased at the revival of this forum. After the last contest, which only had five people participate, I feared that it would be the last one to be held here. You can imagine my surprise when this one ended up with more than twenty submitted maps. I love it too!

So to give your map longer staying power, you could invest some time in custom textures perhaps? Just a thought No need for that, the map looks great! I'm personally fond of maps that actually look like they could be a part of Stroggos and keep with the texture theme of the SPQ2/Q2DM maps. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to playing this level.

OK so I got V1 of the score sheet ready: I have zero Excel knowledge so I can't do it myself, but can you make it so that the "Total" score is calculated automatically out of the values we put in the different categories?

I wouldn't have a problem judging 26+ maps and I would like to be able to give a rating to them all (as opposed to splitting judges up or anything like that), but if push comes to shove and we're having trouble, I vote for extending the deadline a little bit for all the maps to be judged.

Thank you! I'm really excited to be a judge once more. Unfortunately I don't have time to map, that, and the mapping tool I personally used - Qoole 2.50 - doesn't seem to be working on my current PC anymore. And I don't want to switch to another mapping tool since I was so used to Qoole and everything.

Man, it's been SO long since I've been here. Probably a couple of years at least. So, hey guys! But after I received that e-mail about the 10th mapping contest (which I was really hoping was going to happen sometime in the future), I just couldn't refuse. I want to be a judge again.

Can I get Qoole working on a 64-bit Windows 7 somehow?
I'm getting a "Signal SIGSEGV" error whenever I try to make a new map or load one. 2.50 is the version I used to make maps with.
