This is somewhere between badass and hardcore. I stand in awe and admiration to all involved!

This wasa fun one - played briefly on Happyfriar's server last night... love a good grenade-centric map! And this one does reward good grenade work!

I love the Winchester mansion desgin of this one - really unique styling and great brush work... can't wait to play it. Though one peeve is the clip brushes keeping you out of those lovely campable corners!

Finally got to check this one out... looks like it'll be a fun bloodbath! I love these kinds of maps personally. Would have liked to see some deep swimmable water though

As my sparring partner, with whom I did most of the play-testing, said: your maps always need a user's manual. So, to find the railgun, you need to locate the 5-pointed monsters that lives up in one of the the two pagodas up on the high rocks. Jump into the middle jump-pad thingy to get up high, and look around while you're hurtling through the air... You'll notice that these two monsters, which look like the one hanging out of the cliff-face over in the corner of the map, are bathed one in red light, and one in blue light. Shoot the red one! He will slowly descend into the spectral colour in the little pagoda, and when he does, there will be an explosion in the center jump-pad tower, and a fresh new railgun will be tossed upward and land in a random location on the map. The two pagodas are clearly visible in Wixen's first screen shot of this monstrosity Good luck! My friend is insanely good with the rail, so I always make it hard to get

Shoot the monster hanging out of the side wall, and you get a couple cell packs, a couple bullets packs, and a backpack, randomly spewed around the map.
Shoot the red monster in the high tower, and a railgun and a couple slugs spew forth.
Shoot the blue monster in the other high tower, and three (yes three!) quads are randomly tossed into play.
Wherever these things land, become their respective spawn points for the remainder of the match. Needless to say, things get bloody toward the end!

I feel bad is any other map than mine gets knocked for r_speeds! I never did the gl_showtris 1 - too afraid, what with my map's 12000 (yes twelve thousand!!) r_speeds! Can't wait to play these maps!!!

Most of all - thanks to all the uber-cool people that make this all happen! Thanks for keeping the best FPS ever made, alive and kicking ass for 13-odd years!

All I gotta say is, you all are very kind.
This was a fight against time indeed... I really liked how the sky came out too - It looks exactly like the color is described in Lovecraft's "The Colour out of Space"!! Changed the name half way through. Original title was going to be "At the Mountains of Madness"... and of course the original inspiration was Lovecraft's short "Memory".
The sky is actually covered in a brush with 'mist' assigned to its textures... the texture itself is simply "bluekeypad" from the stock set, with 32x scaling in both X and Y, transparency at 66%, 'warp' and 'flow' flags set. Loved the effect!
So, once again I went for something that had never been done... and I have to ask - did anyone shoot the aliens? Didja shewt the one bathed in blue light? The most quoted quotable when we were playing it is "You cannot whore that which is plentiful!"
This map changes dynamic nice and steadily when played with 11/11 frag/time limit with 2 players (which at least is how it was play-tested:)
And yes, those rocks below were SUCH a pain in the ass! Call me a sadist!
