Cripes! That thing looks beautiful! THAT's what I'd like to see more of! Nature oriented maps. There are too many space and base type maps around. - Mike

Maybe release a version with stairs and walkways instead of jump pads? The walkways could have holes in them for shooting. They would also help to explain how the outter levels stay floating with the inner ones ;D

I just tried the map finally and I think it's a little big (round) but I like it. One problem though, What's a good BOT to use? I used Eraser and they kept bunching around one of the lower jump pads, which didn't seem to have any effect on them - Mike

I wish to replace the default Q2 weapon models with favorites found in various mods however some of these new models will end up untextured as it is searching for the texture in the old mod's folder. How can I change these files to be recognized in any pak file?

So rebuilding or editing the deathmatch maps (such as the different copies of The Edge) is illegal?

What happened to that enhanced model and texture pack I saw here?

The grapple in Quake 1 did that too, it was awsome playing in the Entrance map. I would grapple to a corner of the octagonal main room and bounce grenades all over the place whenever someone appeared . Things I would like to see in a weapons mod: - Grenades are referred to as Pineapples so... - Blunt weapon: Xbox 1, Gamecube (it has a handle), Yellow wet floor sign, Finger Armor (goth wear I believe), Nintendo Power Glove, golf clubs, aluminum bat, (wrestling stuff) - Short range: Bow + arrow, Cola + Pop rocks (grenade) - SPAM launcher/bomb (paper or meat) - Predator throwing blade I understand some of these things may not be doable due to copyright issues but you could rename them? (ala GTA) *EDIT* Oh I have a great one! A lawnmower that you carry around as a melee weapon. It's powerful but makes alot of noise - Mike

I think my stuff looks like crap. The only reason I prefer console game editors (like Farcry) is because all the objects are already made and the lighting looks the same for everyone. It also takes me too long to make anything in Quake and I get bored of it. It's more for doodling now than trying to make anything useful.

This is not an advertisement, nor is it spam. I'm looking for feedback on a possible investment next year - 360Gb webspace. It is way more than I, or any of my friends would use so I would be handing out chunks of it for people to host their files. Now I understand that there are many hosts already out there but this space would be completly free, no banners and each guest would get all the file perks as myself.
The only requirements are that the files hosted would need to be of certain quality. You know, those files that are keepers. The ones that blow you away, that are worth their size. There would be game-specific areas with each user having a profile-like page and support would be a forum in the main directory, with links to the more widely used forums.

"What program?" www.secondlife.com - It's an online virtual world with it's own model tools, most of it is built by its residents. I wanted to make this the very first time I bought land but I didn't have enough allowance (Each land chunk comes with a maximum amount of shapes). I tried to make it in Q2 once but the draw distance wouldn't allow it :P. - Mike

It doesn't fire and I still need to add the lights. *edit* Just noticed the texture on the back screw needs to be rotated to match the gun. - Mike (SL name: Jolan Nolan)

Is it ok to sell a stand-alone mod designed with the Quake 2 engine? I just bought a game called "Emazing Mazes" by egames and not only does the 3D mazes folder contain a folder called 'baseq2' but I can edit everything inside as well as load each maze into QuArK - and they use Q2's entities aswell! ... Hmm... maybe I should enter one of their mazes into the mapping contest *Edit* I did some poking around Id's Exploitation Agreement and maybe I'm not chewing properly but I didn't find it very "Easy to digest" . It mentions pay-per-play but is selling through Radio Shack (The Source) ok in the end? Suppose those eGames people are paying royalties? I don't consider them that kind of company... - Mike

Excellent work, however the pcx's seem to have light green splotches on them - they look very out of place as they are the only green on the whole weapon. This is also present with the BFG - the light under your arm looks more like it was painted on.
- Gattling gun - it's too far back I think. For it's length, it should stick out just as far as the machine gun.
- Rockets - The launcher appears to be either rejecting the rockets or popping their empty shells back onto the clip, rather than loading from the outside.

I find QuArK is a really easy to learn Well, I've decieded to scrap that object as it has no use in the map and to save useless polys Oh and I haven't even touched this thing ..But in a way that's a good thing cause when I make a map, I make each section in full. So the parts I have made so far are fully completed Oh boy - Mike
