The gray Q2 logo with blended silver sides looks the best to me . Does it have to be just 1 image for everyone, not selectable in user preferences?

The ID background is ugly because it's so big that you can't tell what it is. The Tiled background is ugly because the edges don't blend well enough. Fix either of those problems and either picture will work fine.
I'd prefer if the ID logo was used, however make it smaller and blend the edges - you can't see it because there is a forum in the way!

no, that was already set. I've fixed the problem by using Arghrad 2.01 instead. I'm now able to compile maps with lighting in Windows 7 64-bit, thanks everyone! Project ISSD may just see the light of day after all

THANKYOU!! I am now using gddqbsp3 109, vis3 104, rad3 103 Except now I'm having that "Cannot find pics/colormap.pcx" error. I have one in my Quake2/baseq2/pics directory, as well as the tmpQuark/pics folder. Maybe it needs it in the compilers folder too? That'd be strange.
Qrad3: ----------- qrad3 ---------- original code by id Software Modified by Geoffrey DeWan Revision 1.04 Compiled for Pentium processors ----------------------------- 4 threads gamedir set to ..\ moddir set to . reading C:\Games\Action\Quake2\tmpQuArK\maps\newmap.bsp

When I try to compile a map in Windows 7 64-bit I get the error that qbsp3 is not compatible with Windows 64-bit. Are there any compilers (bsp, vis, rad) that will work?

I thought LeRay released a mod that used C++ or something to help add new content to the game?

I've been thinking about either Nem's Terrain Generator, or some other one for Half-Life (maybe same one?). I really need a large asteroid for a deathmatch map.

If he insist, you should delete his next posts. Because this type of topics have nothing to do with the contest. I think you should leave the moderating up to the moderators. *Edit: But anyways I've been thinking today and it's your website. If you want to post images that are completely unrelated to the content, that's up to you, and I'll just leave it at that. Good luck to everyone submitting maps and hope to see some fresh, new ideas come from Laura's site in the near future! - Mike

I'm having a bit of an issue with the picture on your site that mentions the contest, the one with a mostly-naked woman with swords. What the hell does that have to do with Quake 2, or any of the Quakes? This add does not make me think of Quake in any sense, but instead "Come Play Now FREE Oh Lord Click Here!".
Now I understand that maybe it's for a fresh approach, using the Q2 engine within a different universe, but I'm sorry for not being a typical guy when I say that your presentation seems like you believe gamers are more interested in sex than gameplay. At least give her some armor or remove the Q2 logo from her chest.
