From the AC forums... www.r1ch.net/forum/index.php?topic=1777.msg9941#msg9941If your anti-virus software shows an alert regarding anticheat.dll, please make sure you have updated your anti-virus to the latest definitions / signatures. If you continue to get an alert, please post the vendor, product name, product version and definition version of your anti-virus software. As of this post I have contacted all major vendors to report their false positives so there should be very few cases left. That was in 2009, later in 2010 he gave up www.r1ch.net/forum/index.php?topic=1858.msg10333#msg10333"Due to the way the anticheat executable is built, you may get a pop up from your anti-virus software saying the file is infected, or it may simply appear not to load when you try to use it. This is a false positive, meaning the detection from your anti-virus software is wrong. I tried at one point to email all the anti-virus vendors and have them fix this, but since there is no easy way to contact them all at once, it has become too much work to do for every single anti-virus product. So now you will need to add anticheat.dll to your anti-virus ignore list or exception list."

Got everything uploaded, with the exception of margaal's .chn files and maric's .arena files.
The q2-uploads account doesn't have the power to make folders, there is only the standard q2 layout. I didn't know where to stick them, so I put them in the 'maps' folder to at least have them somewhere.
=p

I'm probably going to regret entering the discussion, but I can't help myself.
The maps that are on tastyspleen seem to be the latest releases of those maps, spirits release as of 12-31 and marics release as of 12-24.
No disrespect meant to the map makers or anyone else, the maps were uploaded to tastyspleen by a fan. Was going to upload all the maps myself.
I could still do that, should do it actually. Margaal's are all missing, and maybe re-uploading the others will overwrite any bad versions?
Thoughts?

on tltf the floating shards and armor between the jump pads are (I think) on 1 unit square invisible boxes.
I have seen a player land and stand on one of them.
Maybe decompile the map and look at exactly how they did it.

I look forward to seeing the results of the contest. Sorry I do not have free time this holiday season to put a map together for it. Maybe next time.

Gladiator bot comes with an easy converter for .bsp to .map, I dunno if the licensing for the map you are working with will allow it though.

I did have a blast with the rail ladder, so many ways to camp it.
From the top, from below the walkway, from the top of doorways, from the top of the columns below rail...
eventually barton got a hold of it and I had to explore other areas.

I found the red armor by accident, the game after that was running around for kills and coming back to that area for a bit. One or two other players liked that area too, so coming back you had to be prepared. The 2 mega's right next to each other did the trick

I felt guilty on that one with so many rail kills so fast.
Liked railing players that tele'd in over the quad room.
never did go anywhere besides the quad room and the red room in actual gameplay.

I saw a glorious site, my beloved railgun launching out of the central tower. My eyes followed it's trajectory, feverishly waiting for it's final destination. I was going to get to it and pick off players at will across the entire map. Muhahahahaha........ man, it fell to it's death Hehe, I did eventually get one. Nailed a TON of shots of people launching out of the tower in random directions. Enough good ones I wanna make a vid of it. That in it'self is a concept for a sweet railmap.
